IBADAN—GOVERNOR Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has sworn in the new state’s Head of Service, Mrs. Hannah Ogunesan and President, Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Solomon Akinteye, urging them to remain dedicated in their call to service.Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi
The governor, who administered the swearing in at the Executive Cabinet Chambers of the Governor’s Office, charged the new HoS to use her office for the leadership, management and capacity development of the civil/public service in the state.
Ajimobi said: “This office is the engine of governance and the administrative machinery for implementing government directives, programmes, activities and policies.”
Similarly, the governor called on the newly sworn in President of the Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Akinteye to ensure that new rules of practice and procedure were quickly made for the court, to assure speedy adjudication, and fair
“Customary law in its modern day application will complement our existing laws in appropriate cases and the court whose President is being sworn in today will serve as the major vehicle to blend our appropriate customary laws and practices with constitutional validity. This giant stride should also streamline the adjudicating process in our lower cadre customary courts.” (especially the Grade C Customary Court) and regulate the seemingly adhoc procedures of their panels.”
