BENIN—A stalwart of All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Osawe Osayemwenre, in Edo State, has said that those accusing the immediate past governor of Edo State, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, of seeking the job of Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, another Edo man, are crying more than the bereaved.

He stated this in Benin City, Edo State, yesterday, while fielding questions from journalists. He also called on APC faithful in the state to support Oshiomhole’s candidature as the party’s national chairman.

Osawe said the interest of the party was to win the forthcoming presidential election, adding that that should be paramount to members of the party and they should not yield to the antics of political opponents who believe in tribal politics.

He said: “For those claiming that an Edo man is seeking another Edo man’s job, I will say, these are the antics of political opponents who are trying to weep more than the bereaved as party matters are matters of national interest and winning elections and not a tribal or state affairs. So, let Oshiomhole be, as he remains the best man for the job today.”
