Beneficiaries in their large number trooped into the premises of the C&S movement Church, Surulere District, Lagos (Ayo Ni o) along Apapa Oshodi Express road to take part in the free medical service organized by Joy Welfare and Charity Ministry of the Church in collaboration with Rotarians for Family Health and Aids Prevention yesterday.
General Leader of the Church, Special Apostle Sunday Korode who was represented by the Deputy Secretary of the District, Special Apostle Benjamin Alaka, said timely health check is a preventive measure and advised Nigerians to avail themselves of the opportunity with a view to saving lives.
Special Mother in Israel, Pastor Agbeke Ogunsanwo, said that the Church got involved in the programme to assist people who were unaware of their health status with a view to nipping in the bud ailments that could lead to crisis in the near future.
She also added that the programme, as part of the Church’s corporate social responsibility would enable members of the Church and the community at large to enjoy good health and prolong their lives. Ogunsanwo said that the three-day exercise covers HIV testing and counseling, screening of patients effected with Hepatitis B and C, Diabetes and Glucose level Screening, malaria screening and treatment, cervical/breast/prostrate cancer screening, eye cataract tests and treatment, dental care among others.
