ABUJA-Mass defection from the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, to the newly formed Coalition for United Political Parties, CUPP is imminent in the House of Representatives, Vanguard can authoritatively report.

Recall that the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the Reformed All Progressives Congress, R-APC and over 30 other political parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently to work towards the ouster of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
Vanguard’s investigations at Wednesday House plenary indicated an unusual excitement in the members who are perfecting their plans to ditch APC.
Many of the members showing a predilection for the new CUPP are mostly from the North, with a handful from Kano and Kaduna States in particular.
Already, many of the members have folded the APC flag in their respective offices, a development that shows they could leave the party any moment.
Vanguard gathered that the alliance was what the members were waiting for.
“Wait and see what will happen in the weeks ahead, just before the primary elections of political parties begin”, an immediate past member of the House who shares an affinity with the current leadership told Vanguard upon enquiries.
According to him, the defection is not essentially hinged on their political survival but a mission to rescue the country from ineptitude and gross incompetence of the present administration.
He however said that the members’ identity would not be disclosed at this time in order not to expose them to jeopardy.Related
