Chairman of Enugu State Urban Renewal Committee, Chris Offor, has appealed to residents of the state to support the government’s development programmes by desisting from indiscriminate dumping of refuse on the drainage system, to allow easy flow of water and avoid incidence of flooding during the rains.Ugwuanyi
Offor also urged the residents to assist the government in cleaning up the clogged drainage system in their respective areas, stressing that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration is poised to provide more massive infrastructure and address other basic needs of the people as well as protect lives and property.
The committee chairman spoke at Nsukka during a facility tour of the area to review the ongoing development projects and the level of water flow during the rains.
Offor commended Ugwuanyi for quality projects being executed in the state and his proactive response towards averting some unforeseen challenges being encountered on some of the facilities, especially during this rainy season.
He maintained that “the current administration is geared towards safeguarding its infrastructure as well as protecting the lives and property of the citizens” in the overall interest of the state.
The chairman assured the people of the state that all that needed to be corrected will be done before the next rainy season and appealed to them to continue to support and cooperate with the government’s efforts to provide more dividends of democracy.
