NGO empowers 500 indigent women, artisans in Nsukka

NSUKKA—OVER 500 indigent women, less priviledged and artisans in Edem Ani community of Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State have received food items and cash gifts as relief of their various needs to show that all hope has not been lost.

Ikeogu Foundation, a non governmental organization, NGO, in brief but solemn event shared bags of rice and cash to the less priviledged people, indigent women and artisans in support of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi campaign for relection in 2019 general election in the country.

Oscar Okwume, Senior Special Assistance, SSA, to the governor on Environment and founder, Ikeogu Foundation said the materials and cash gifts were to appreciate Governor Ugwuanyi in all he has been doing in Enugu State for the past three years and to rekindle hope of assured governance come 2019 general election in the country.

He said: ‘’The empowerment of indigent widows, less priviledged people in my community has been an annual event of the foundation. Every year the foundation assembles men and women, entertains them with food and drinks and share food items to each person.”
