The four-track project, a fusion of urban-afro tracks, which is an expression of Okiemute ‘s versatility as an artiste, comprised of Turn Up, Lau Lau, Trouble and Omokalakuta.
Touted as one of the fastest rising stars in African pop culture, Okiemute’s music career took centre stage as a solo artiste when she won the MTN Project Fame West Africa Season 9 in 2016. She later released her first single titled Good Luving, and followed with her first EP titled PH610 in 2017, which got massive acceptance.
The singer who recently got signed to Flux Factory spearheaded by music producer, GospelOnDeBeatz, is known for her hit singles, African Wonder, Wosa and Money, a collaboration with Moonchild Sanelly and GospelOnDeBeatz was at number four on MTV Base Top 10 Countdown.
Speaking on the new project, Okiemute said: “Finally, so ecstatic to share this new project with my fans across Africa and around the world. This body of work is a blend of different genres so that everyone could relate with my music. With this EP, I hope to share my new sound to the world and hope you all love it.”
Expressing appreciation to God for her music and the interest it has garnered from people, the singer urged Nigerian youths to always believe in themselves, saying dreaming do come true.
Commenting on her maiden East Africa media run in December to promote the new EP and meet her music fans in the region, she says, “I have so much planned for you my East African family. I am looking forward to this trip so I can meet all of you and hopefully get to collaborate on a few projects with artists in the region.”Guests at the event, which held at the FilmHouse Lekki, Lagos, include Big Brother Naija stars, Omatshola, Anto and KimOprah, all making surprise appearance to the delight of fans.
