Kano Pillars Handball Club became the first team to record a win after beating Lagos Seasiders 38-27 in the opening game of the Prudent Energy Handball league, which began yesterday at the sports hall of the National Stadium in Abuja.
The Seasiders, who finished second last year, suffered the shock in the hands of Pillars, who are looking to do well this year. The Lagos team will have to improve if it hopes to challenge for top prize in the two-phased Premier League.
