Rep donates 48 laptops to schools in his constituency

THE House of Representatives member for Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal constituency in Sokoto State, Hon. Abdulsamad Dasuki, has donated 48 computer sets to secondary schools in local government areas.

Dasuki said the gesture was to encourage learning of information, communication and technology by students in his constituency as well as support the state government to succeed in its state of emergency on the education sector.

“As you are aware, just last month, I donated 50 laptops to students of Sokoto State University, Polytechnic and Shehu Shagari College of Education. We are doing everything possible to ensure that our students in secondary schools in Tambuwal and Kebbe local government councils are acquainted with information and communication skills so that they will be well prepared on completion of their secondary education.

“This is part of such contribution towards improving learning in schools in the area. ICT is now the vogue globally, and we cannot afford to lag behind,” he said.

He added that apart fom the construction of 11 boreholes in some communities in the constituency, there are plans to empower youths in the area to engage in commercial farming. “I am ready to provide financial support to our youths to enable them engage in profitable commercial farming. This is very critical as farming is a major source of income to our people,”he added.

He commended Governor Tambuwal for his commitment towards improving the lots of the people and promised not to relent in his efforts in providing qualitative representation.

The Chairman of Tambuwal Local Government Area, Abubakar Zaki, commended the lawmaker for the gesture.
