We need new transformer — Awoyaya Community

Lagos—Awoyaya area in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State has demanded for a new transformer, in a bid to rescue it from current epileptic supply.

The community lamented that the irregular electricity supply has compounded their socio-economic situation.

A resident of Old container area of Awoyaya in Ibeju Lekki, who simply identified himself as Mr. John described the situation as worrisome, saying, “Electricity supply here is frustrating. We are very well aware of the crisis in fuel scarcity and prices in the country, yet we have been forced to live in darkness without any explanation.

“Our transformer is obsolete and in need of replacement. The the problem will be far from over if repaired again.”

The General Manager, Corporate Communications, EKEDC, Godwin Idemudia, called for calm, saying the company was putting in place structures to tackle the crisis.
