Bandits have reportedly kidnapped two women leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) within the Manini flashpoints in Birnin Gwari Local Council of Kaduna State.
The incident happened after the duo attended inauguration of the state governor, Uba Sani.
Chairman of Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), Ishaq Usman Kasai, made the disclosure in an interview in Kaduna, yesterday.
He said the bandits blocked the road and kidnapped the two women and an unspecified number of others.
He described the two as Birnin Gwari APC women leader, Hajiya Lami Awarware, and her assistant, Hajiya Haulatu Aliyu.
It was gathered that immediately the victims were kidnapped on Tuesday, the abductors took them to the forest.
Kasai said the abductors were yet to contact families of the victims or any person in the area.
Recall that recently, BEPU, while congratulating President Bola Tinubu on his inauguration, had pleaded with him to curb the insecurity bedevilling the local council.
The state government and the police were yet to issue a statement on the development as of the time of filling this report.
