Buhari Commissions 80 Housing Units In Taraba

President Muhamadu Buhari yesterday commissioned 80 housing units in Jalingo, Taraba State capital to address housing challenges to the general public in the state.

The housing estate is located at Welcome To Jalingo Gate from Wukari to Jalingo Highway.

While commissioning the estate, Buhari who was represented by the minister of state for Works and Housing, Mu’azu Joji Sambo, said the completion and commissioning of the housing estate was in line with his promises during his presidential campaigns.

“We have completed and are handing over 80 units of houses comprising 4 units of 1 Bedroom, 48 units of 2 bedroom and 24 units of three-bedroom bungalows.

“We have offered all these housing units to members of the general public in a non-discriminatory way by opening the National Housing Portal to ensure that those interested are not inhibited by any artificial obstacle and allocation are being made on the basis of those who apply and pay on a first come first served.

“While we welcome those who can pay outright, it is not a condition for eligibility and we have offered flexible payment options like mortgages and rent to own which we encourage applicants to pursue.”

Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State, who was represented at the event by the secretary to the state government, Anthony Jerason, expressed appreciation to the president for the kind gesture of providing beautiful edifice for the people of the state.
