Cafcc: Plateau United Won’t Underrate Al-Akhdar Despite First Leg Advantage – Ilechukwu

Tue Nov 8th, 2022 -

Plateau United head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has said the team will go all out for victory against Libya’s Al-Akhdar on Wednesday.

The Peace Boys defeated the Libyans 4-1 in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup playoff round tie last week.

Al-Akhdar will need to score three goals without conceding in order to stop Plateau United from sailing through to the lucrative group stage of the competition.

Ilechukwu stated that his team is fully focused on the task ahead and won’t allow anything to distract them.

“We are fully prepared for this all important match, knowing fully well that coming out with a decent result will catapult the team to the group stage of the competition,” Ilechukwu told the club’s media.

” Naturally a four-one victory is a good scoreline by any standard, but in a competition of this magnitude, where the away goal rule counts, we need maximum concentration to enable us come out unscathed.”

The match will kick-off at 3pm Nigerian time.
